“湯圓是一種中國人依照習俗在冬至、農曆正月十五元宵節和春節烹制食用的應景食品,多為糯米製成。在上海,江南一帶,吳語稱為「湯糰」稱為在臺灣,臺語稱為「圓仔」,客話稱為「粄圓」,通常作成紅白兩色。一般湯圓糯米皮薄、表面是乾的,下鍋煮時皮才吸收水份變糊。甜餡有碎花生、白糖、芝麻等。烹調時通常是加紅糖和水一起煮,或者薑加冰糖。”
